It was a strong Friday night last week for the Lady Rangers. Hosting their district-mate Saginaw High School, the girls in purple faced an intense fight against a strong Lady Rough Rider team. All three sets kept the audience on their edge of their seats as the two teams wrestled for control over the court, neither allowing much ground to be gained without taking back their losses. Set two was the largest point gap of the evening, with a 25-16 final score, but the matches before and after was a battle down to the very last play, ending in a 29-27 and 25-23 victory respectively. The 3-0 sweep marked the first district win for the Lady Rangers. Angar Arop led the team with 10 kills, 7 digs, 5 services aces, and 1 block. Achan Arop added an additional 9 kills, 5 digs, and 3 aces. Femke Smits put up 30 assists, 8 digs, and 6 aces, and Assata Howard brought in 13 digs.
Chisholm Trail travels into Keller on Tuesday, September 15th, to take on the Fossil Ridge Lady Panthers with the aim of a repeat of Friday's performance.
