The Rangers kicked off the season at Rough Riders Stadium on Saturday, February 21st, facing off against a collection of strong and competitive teams. Bringing home a number of medals on both the girls' and boys' sides of the track, it was a solid start to the season.
For the ladies, Diana Chaves was one of the top runners of the day, earning gold in the 3200m and silver in the 1600m, Triple Jumpers Assata Howard and Sarah Mbambo came out the other side with 4th and 5th place finishes respectively, attaining similar outcomes in the Long Jump.
On the part of the gentlemen, Joseph Caldone earned bronze in the 200m, the 4x100 relay team brought he baton around the track in enough time to achieve silver, as did the 4x200 relay team and Jaylen Robinson in the High Jump. Xavier Rodriguez brought home gold in the Long Jump, and the boys of the 4x4 relay were the final medal winners of the evening, taking bronze.
The teams head to Boswell territory on Thursday, March 5th, for the Pioneer Relays.
