The Rangers showed out strong on Friday, traveling to Boswell High School for a friendly duel against the Pioneers. Both boys and girls teams wracked up solid numbers that made the evening a thriller for all in attendance.
On the boys side of the gym, several top five finishes earned the Rangers enough points to triumph with a first place spot at the end of the meet. Dominik Galicia lead the charge with four gold medals on Rings, Parallel Bars, High Bars, and All-Around, followed closely by a Brian Tellef with a win on Pommel Horse, Andres Carrasquillo-Baez placing first on Rings, and Xander Peeni with 4th on Vault.
The Lady Rangers were just as successful in their endeavors and snagged silver as a team, improving their overall score by 14 points. Standouts of the evening included Rylee Westerlund placing 3rd in the vault, bars, and all-around, Alexia Reyna tying for sixth in the Vault competition with Shaelynn Hill, and Grace Kennedy taking 5th in the women's floor competition.
Both the ladies and gentlemen look forward to keeping this momentum going for the Mark Williams Invite on Thursday, March 5th, at the Forrest E. Watson Gymnastics Center.
