Round One of the playoffs started off strong for the Lady Rangers this past Monday, taking to the court against the Lady Mustangs of Grapevine High School. Exploding into the first quarter Chisholm handily lead the way with a quadruple point lead of 12-3 and maintained the top position going into halftime thanks to an amazing half court buzzer beater sunk by Jayci Butler. Coming out in the third with 19 points to their opponent's 13, the girls in purple were forced into a more defensive game when the Lady Mustangs shifted into an aggressive offense. Unfortunately, despite putting up more points to their name, Chisholm's front line was slowly chipped away and ultimately fell behind Grapevine in a nine-point deficit, 47-56 decorating the scoreboard at the final buzzer.
This action packed season comes to a strong close with not only a positive record of 20-14 but also the first playoff appearance from the team since the 2017-18 season. With the numbers they put up this year, the Lady Rangers are determined to make another appearance next year! Top scorers of the Bi-District game include Jada Hill with 17, Jayci Butler with 12, Kristen Crawford with seven, Makayla Crawford with four, Angar Arop with 3, and finally, Kennedy Brooks and Mya Johnson with two points each.
Congratulations on such a successful run, ladies!
