The Rangers took a trip across the tracks Tuesday to dual against district-mate Saginaw High School. Starting off swinging, Chisholm got off to an early lead that they held for the rest of the game. Anthony Hernandez opened up in the first with a single and scoring one run, followed by another single by Austen Govea in the second, then a third in the third by Riley Wade that pushed many of his teammates on-base back to home plate, making the score 5-0. It was here that the Rangers started to hold the line, the Rough Riders beginning to catch up with some scores of their own. Kenneth Rosado fought hard from the mound, allowing three runs but striking out four in response. The combined efforts of both offense and defense permitted for the boys in purple to maintain their lead into the bottom of the ninth, ending in a close 5-3 win.
The Rangers are facing off against the Rough Riders again on Thursday, April 17th, this time at home to complete the series.
