For the first time in 5 years, the Lady Rangers have claimed the district title in wrestling! Not only that, but on the mat at Azle, eight out of the nine girls competing for Chisholm Trail advance to the regional tournament! Savannah Arredondo, Anaseini Tupou, and Madyson Rust all claimed 3rd, having only lost one match the entire day. Natalie Garcia and Hayven Pierotti claimed silver in their weight class, only falling short behind the #1 girls in the state. Sophia Martinez, too, was second behind a state qualifier. Onyx Ngilo and Hailey Aguirre stood out as the two to win all of their matches by pins and earning individual district titles for their weight classes. Congratulations, ladies!
The girls will be going on to the Regionals Tournament taking place in Lubbock on Friday, Feb. 7th, and Saturday, Feb. 8th.
