The mid-week game against the Hornets proved to be a tight match. Chisholm Trail started out with an exceptional launch into the lead, responding to one run put up by Azle with 11 points after the bottom of the third. The Rangers held steady in this wide margin for most of the game, but Azle began to chip away at wall with a staggering grand slam from one of their batters. However, the boys in purple held firm and refused to give up the spot on top. By the end, Chisholm had maintained their lead by a narrow two runs, putting up a final score of 12-10. Kenneth Rosado, Anthony Hernandez , Sergio Sias, and Eran Puente were the top offensive players of the evening, providing the relief for the boys to swat down the Hornets.
The boys are on the road Friday, March 14, and will face off against Azle once more, looking to keep the wins coming.
