David Norris
David Norris takes over the head coaching duties at Chisholm Trail High School for the 2023-24 school year. This is his second year in EMS ISD, spending last season as the varsity assistant girls basketball coach and assistant cross country coach. Coach Norris has over 35 years experience as a teacher, coach and administrator. He began his coaching career at Columbia High School in West Columbia, TX in 1986. Other high school coaching stops included Brenham, Leakey, San Marcos and Dripping Springs.
A member of the 400 win club, he has won numerous district titles, been a district coach of the year three times; and led one of his teams at Dripping Springs to the Regional Quarterfinals.
Coach Norris earned his bachelor's degree at Southwest Texas State University and his master's degree in Education Administration from Lamar University.
He and his wife Rebecca have four kids: Kayla, David Jr., Jasmine and Isabella.
