Josh Michael
Coach Josh Michael is the head tennis coach at Chisholm Trail High School. In eight seasons at the helm, his tennis teams have been very successful and accolades include two bi-district championships, an area championship in fall team tennis; while in the spring, the Lady Ranger tennis team produced a district championship in 2021 and 2022, while the Ranger boys were district runner-ups in the spring of 2022.
He was raised in the small town of Durant, Oklahoma and played college tennis for two years at Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Coach Michael received his Bachelor of Science, and Master's in Education from Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
His coaching/teaching career started in 2003 as the Head tennis coach at Durant High School. In 12 years there, they won four regional championships and produced four all-state tennis players and one individual state champion.
In 2010, he was selected as an Oklahoma All-State Coach with the opportunity to coach the all-state games.
Coach Michael and his wife Ranee and have four children together; Triston, Jordan, Jacob, and Samuel. Coach Michael is very passionate about tennis and still plays in tournaments and leagues. His other hobbies include bowling, fishing, and of course watching the Dallas Cowboys on Sundays.
