Mason Munguia

Mason Munguia will take over as the fourth head baseball coach in Ranger school history for the 2022-2023 season.

Munguia brings over 10 years of coaching experience from all over the state of Texas. His coaching career began in 2012 as a volunteer assistant coach for Midland Christian School. While on staff, they won two football state championships, and a baseball state championship and were the runner-ups the following year.

Coach Munguia moved on to his alma mater Odessa High School as a pitching coach; calling all the pitches for the team that made three consecutive playoff appearances and lowered their earned run average by one run every season. His work paved way for a Texas High School Assistant Coach of the year nominee in 2016.

Munguia coached at Midland and Odessa Permian helping them each to a district title, and Odessa Permian to a regional quarterfinal appearance.

Most recently, Munguia coached at Northwest High School. In the fall, he coached the cornerbacks for the football team and in the spring he worked with the hitters and outfielders for the baseball team. The Texan baseball team was bi-district champions in 2022.

Munguia played high school football and baseball at Odessa High School, earning all-district honors and played college football and baseball for Tarleton State University. He received his Associates Degree from Odessa College, and got his Bachelor's Degree in History from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin.

He and his wife Lani have a daughter Marlee.
