Mike Shipman
Coach Shipman is a defensive line coach and an assistant soccer coach. Coach Shipman currently teaches AP Government and AP Macroeconomics.
Coach Shipman graduated from Lubbock High School in 1989 where he competed in football, baseball, and track and field. After graduation, Coach Shipman enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Coach Shipman served on the USS Waddell DDG-24 and the USS Enterprise CVN-65. Coach Shipman attained the Rank of Petty Officer 2nd class and later served in the Navy Reserve where he earned the rank of Chief Petty Officer. Coach Shipman graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Arts in History; he also attended Texas Woman’s University and earned a Master of Science in Kinesiology with a concentration in Coaching.
Before joining the Rangers, Coach Shipman spent twenty years in Law Enforcement. He made coaching stops at Castleberry High School and Leo Adams Middle School. Coach Shipman spent three years as the Director of Intramurals and Instructor of Kinesiology at South Plains College.
Coach Shipman and his wife have two sons: Jesse and Justin.
