Donovan Tate
Donovan Tate enters his first year on the staff of the Chisholm Trail Rangers. He'll coach the inside linebackers in the fall, and serve as the head women's track and field coach in the spring.
Coach Tate brings with him over 10 years of coaching and has coached high school and college in Mississippi and Louisiana. He has coached wide receivers, quarterbcks, tight ends, return specialists, and has been an assistant offensive coordinator and offensive coordinator. His 2016 team in Mississippi set the then state record for points per game with 46.7
A 2007 graduate of Hattiesburg High School, Coach Tate played college football at East Central Community College for two seasons and earned honorable mention MACJC All-State honors in 2007. He was a Dean's List Scholar and member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes; and was selected for Who's Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges. Coach Tate received his Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts in 2008.
Upon graduation, he transferred to Nicholls State University and received All-Conference Academic honors in 2009, 2010 and 2011. He received his bachelor's and his master's degree from Nicholls State.
